The gentle undulating hills of the machair coupled with the wonderful seabirds and machair flowers are a rewarding walk. A trip to one of the few hills on North Uist can take you alongside some isolated lochs and possible a glimpse of a stag. On a clear day, Skye’s Cuillins are visible to the east and St Kilda sticking out prominently to the west.

For most, nothing can beat having a stunning beach all to yourself. And with so many to choose from, you’re bound to find a secluded spot. With Berneray to the north boasting three miles of unspoilt paradise, down to Clachan Sands and Sollas both beautiful crescent shaped beaches to smaller but equally magical ones like surfing hotspot Hosta. The dramatic colours of these shores will surely take your breath away.
