Set on the edge of Loch Eport and overlooking Ben Eaval, this former shooting lodge is a comfortable and beautifully updated small hotel that gives you access to the islands and their wide range of activities for recreation and leisure.

With over 20 years under the same management and ownership, we believe we can provide our guests with a unique hospitality experience.

Over the years, we have fine tuned the dining experience making the best of local produce, seafood and game for our lunch and evening menus.

The original Lodge has been sympathetically updated and extended to maximise the views and create a light and airy atmosphere. New rooms built into the Hillside offer an extremely high standard of accommodation but continue to reflect traditional highland style.

Situated in our own extensive grounds, the Lodge presents an ideal location for guests who wish to travel with their dogs. We welcome dogs in all of our public rooms except the restaurant.

From 10am, tea, coffee and cakes can be enjoyed in our bar, conservatory and garden. Open to residents and non-residents.

Please note Sat Navs may take you down the Locheport township road instead of the Langass road. If you pass Shoreline Stoneware, you are heading down the wrong road! Turn back and turn right onto the main road. Take the next road on the right, next to the salmon hatchery and signs for Langass Lodge, and you will find us tucked away at the bottom.

What our customers say on Tripadvisor

  • Very handy for the stone circle, just a short walk away past the garden where it is possible to sit in good weather. The staff were very friendly and welcoming without exception and happy to provide us with much needed tea. Lovely to sit with views out over the garden to the hills beyond. Very easy to find

  • Langass Lodge was a wonderful surprise. We cycled here on a Sunday, expecting all to be closed, and were delighted to find it open for lunch.
Inside, we found a very tastefully decorated restaurant, with a lovely lunch menu at very reasonable prices. Our choice of two from a wide range of cakes were delicious: crab tart and vegetable tart were equally enjoyable.
The service was friendly, attentive, and genuine.
On meeting cousins in the evening, we immediately recommended they visit Langass Lodge.

  • We stayed for two nights in one of the newer rooms overlooking the garden. It was beautifully decorated, was very spacious, and had French doors leading to the garden areas. We ate one night in the restaurant with beautiful filling food and inventive menu, and one night in the bar area with a typical bar menu. Both were superb. Breakfast had something for everyone and was beautifully cooked.
    Thoroughly recommend this hotel

  • This was a fascinating place with lots of character, lovely staff and immaculate and HUGE bedroom. High standard of cleanliness, great facilities, highly recommend. The restaurant menu was quite expensive so would recommend the bar menu- food was excellent but such huge quantities, we ordered one meal between two on the second night!

  • Beautiful place to stay. All the staff were really welcoming and friendly. The rooms are beautifully appointed and the views over the loch are stunning. The food in the restaurant and bar is amazing and all home cooked. Look forward to returning again in the future
    Thanks to everyone

  • We stayed at Langass whilst enjoying the wonderfully varied sport that North Uist has to offer.  The rooms were spacious and very comfortable with amazing views. The food was simple, but done very well and the staff helpful and very attentive. We had a great time and would definitely return.

  • Beautiful hunting lodge. Even though we had one of the small rooms (no6) within the lodge, we had a great time & enjoyed all the small touches that make this a very special place to stay. One comment would be the room is slightly dark. Wonderful food using local produce. Also great breakfast with tons of choice. Very good value for money. If in Uist, this place is a must.

  • There’s not a lot of accommodation on this part of the island but this is a very tastefully decorated small hotel. The breakfast and dinner were very good, our room of a good size. It’s centrally located on North Uist with on-site parking. We enjoyed our stay here and would stay again if we came back to this part of the Hebrides.

  • Absolutely one of the best lodges/hotels in Scotland! Great setting, great rooms, great food, wonderful staff
This lodge, not far from the ferry, is on a huge parcel of land with beautiful hiking trails, wonderful wildlife (especially birds) and on top of all those reasons for coming to Scotland, the rooms are wonderfully luxurious with step out porches, big bath tubs and wonderful beds. The restaurant is equally great with wonderful staff and food and indeed, a great Scotch and beer selection. Last but not least, the price is really good and this was probably the best value stay on our entire trip. I’m in total agreement with the “5” ratings and in total disagreement with any low ratings…
