Niall has spent his whole life on North Uist and has a wealth of knowledge about fishing and boating on the island. He dives regularly for the fantastic scallops you will find on our menu and he could not imagine living anywhere else.
Drafted in 1995, Amanda enjoys exploring the island by kayak and is responsible for gathering most of the mussels and cockles that regularly feature in our restaurant and bar.
Manager Hilary lives on Berneray and loves to explore the Uists by bike, she’s the one to ask for recommendations on beaches and walks.
The rest of our team are predominately islanders, who are young, outgoing and friendly and always ready to offer advice on their island home.
We stayed at Langass whilst enjoying the wonderfully varied sport that North Uist has to offer. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable with amazing views. The food was simple, but done very well and the staff helpful and very attentive. We had a great time and would definitely return.
Beautiful hunting lodge. Even though we had one of the small rooms (no6) within the lodge, we had a great time & enjoyed all the small touches that make this a very special place to stay. One comment would be the room is slightly dark. Wonderful food using local produce. Also great breakfast with tons of choice. Very good value for money. If in Uist, this place is a must.
There’s not a lot of accommodation on this part of the island but this is a very tastefully decorated small hotel. The breakfast and dinner were very good, our room of a good size. It’s centrally located on North Uist with on-site parking. We enjoyed our stay here and would stay again if we came back to this part of the Hebrides.
This may be a unique spot on North Uist. Tucked away from the main road south, it is surrounded by lots of wildlife and beautiful landscapes. Even if you are not hunting (stalking) or fishing, great for walking and as a base for island exploration. Small bar and restaurant are luxury all the way.
